Project Overview
The project investigates various model based techniques for the assessment of urban climate. It collects various types of relevant data for the area of Hamburg and prepares them for the use in complex numerical models. The data most importantly includes land-use information and derived surface cover and building type information. Using this data the numerical model METRAS is applied to investigate scenarios of urban climate for the area of Hamburg. These data are processed and displayed in a web-based GIS in order to make the findings of the project available to users such as urban planners.
