Congratulations to Jule Radtke for her PhD with the topic “On the relationship between precipitation and spatial organization in the trades”! She has discovered a mechanism how precipitation from shallow clouds in the trade wind region can spatially organize to rain efficiently even in dry ambient air. For more information, see her paper “The relationship between precipitation and its spatial pattern in the trades observed during EUREC4A” and a forthcoming publication.
