A recently published article by Jakob Deutloff "Insights on Tropical High-Cloud Radiative Effect from a New Conceptual Model" (JAMES) introduces a new model to significantly reduce the complexity of the tropical high-cloud radiative effect by conceptualizing it as a function of ice water path. This conceptual model reveals that low clouds are rendering the high-cloud radiative effect positive.
