History

The group started in the 1990-ies at the University of Bremen as "Satellite Microwave Atmospheric Sounding Group".  It was a part of the Institute of Environmental Physics.  Between 2006 and 2013 it was located at Luleå University of Technology, as part of the Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering - Division of Space Technology in Kiruna.  In 2013, the core of the group moved to University of Hamburg, maintaining close collaboration with the part of the group that stayed in Kiruna.
