Small-Scale Atmospheric Modeling
We study small-scale atmospheric processes and their interaction with the large scale dynamics. This includes turbulence, planetary boundary layers and shallow circulations, and how they interact with the surface, cloud microphysics and radiative transfer. In addition to applications to boundary layer meterology, this work also help us to better interpret data from climate and weather models. We use a bottom-up approach focusing on process understanding and exploiting new technologies for high-resolution, multiscale, multiphysics simulations, data analysis and modeling.
