Research Interests
My research focuses on precipitation extremes and related dynamic processes and mainly contains two parts:
For extremes without trend: the scaling law of the world's greatest point rainfall over land P(d) to duration d was revisited using grid-point data from several simulations with different resolution. A relationship between the scaling law of high-order moments and that of extreme events is built.
For extremes with trend: the point process (PP) model was used to fit the observations. Then the effect of several monsoon components on the extreme precipitation was analyzed by implanting the indices in the PP model as covariates.
