Traveling by Plane

Visitors traveling by plane via Hamburg Airport ("Fuhlsbüttel") can reach the Geomatikum

• by Taxi (approximately 25 min, approximately EUR 20,- )
• by public transport: take the suburban railway S1 towards "Ohlsdorf", change there into the underground railway U1, and finally into the underground U3 at station "Kellinghusenstraße". Leave the U3 at station "Schlump" (see Rapid Transit Rail map posted in the stations). The Geomatikum is in the vicinity of station "Schlump". Running time: 22 min, Fare: EUR 2,85, Tickets valid for the complete trip are sold at ticket machines (button 3).

• change at Hamburg-Hauptbahnhof and take the underground U2 to the station "Schlump" (you must buy a ticket at the ticket machine before entering the platform, button 2, EUR 1,85).
• or leave the train at railway station "Dammtor". From there you can take a taxi or have a 15 min walk to the Geomatikum.

Traveling by Car

It is not recommended to travel by car since it is hardly possible to find a parking lot in the university area. If you can not avoid coming by car, exit motorway A7 at Hamburg-Volkspark and follow the signs into the center of the city. The Geomatikum is near to the television tower which you will see long before you approach the university area. The Grindelberg 7 is several hundred meters farther.
